7/15/25 Project Update: Sierra Santa Fe has applied the ONYX fog seal this morning to N.1st Street from Elm Street to Ivy Street. It will take a couple of hours to dry then the street will be open. Work will continue Wednesday the 16th on finishing the ONYX fog seal from Ivy Street to Kingwood Street. The striping company will come in at a later date to finish parking and centerline striping.

7/14/25 - Downtown N. 1st Street Project update: The chip seal portion of the first part of N. 1st Street is done, and the street is now open and drivable! Motorcyclists use extreme caution. The contractor is rapidly moving this project along to reduce impacts to downtown businesses. Thank you @Sierra Santa Fe! Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 7/15, the road will be closed again starting at 5am to sweep up any loose rock chips. Once the street is swept, the ONYX fog seal will be sprayed down from curb to curb. Dry time for the seal is 1-2 hours depending on the temperature. The contractor is planning to fog seal the whole street tomorrow. The street will be open as soon as the ONYX fog seal dries. Parking striping will happen at a later date which has not yet been confirmed. Please watch for signage in this area! Thank you
