Utility Rates

For Residential Customers, Single-Family Home - How is My Water Bill Calculated?

Inside City Limits

                Water:  Base water charge (3/4” meter) = $13.69+ (Cubic Feet x .0300)

                Sewer:  Base residential sewer charge =  $66.71 + (Cubic Feet x .1089)

Outside City Limits

                Water:  Base water charge (3/4” meter) = $27.86+ (Cubic Feet x .0611)

Example:

Based on average consumption, a 4-person household typically uses 1000 cubic feet per month.  The water portion of the bill calculates to $43.69 [$13.69 + $30.00 (1000 x .0300)].  For the same 1000 cubic feet, the sewer portion of the bill calculates to $175.61 [$66.71+ $108.90 (1000 x .1089)].

There is an 11 percent tax added to both the water and sewer charges.  Using the above example, the tax charges are $4.81 and $19.32.  The bill will also include the applicable garbage charge.  For a 4-person household this charge will probably be $24.76 (60 gallon cart).  There is a 3.6 percent garbage tax and an 11 percent utility tax based on the garbage charge (.89/2.72).

If you live outside the City limits, arrange for garbage service directly through Waste Control: (360) 425-4302

Garbage rates are based on a 32-gallon cart for a 2-person home and a 60-gallon cart for a 4-person home.

Street Fund Tax is a 11% charge based on the garbage charges.  6% of the tax is used strictly for street operations until December 31, 2027.

Please note, the sewer consumption is based on your water usage.  So, every drop of water will have a sewer charge associated with it.
