The City of Kalama also provides many other services to its community. The city operates a municipal water and sewer system and provides clean drinking water to all of its customers inside and outside of city limits. The city also offers private parties with the option of renting out the Kalama Community Building, an all-occasion meeting place, located at the corner of N. Second and Elm.
The Kalama Community Building is considered to be an all-occasion meeting place. People from the community and out of town have used this facility for school dances, weddings, graduation parties, banquets, baby showers, retirement parties and baptisms. After the flood of 1996 it was used as a temporary Kalama City Hall.
The city provides water and sewer service to its
customers inside and outside of city limits. The city operates a
state of the art drinking water treatment plant as seen on the
right. This plant opened in 2001 and it provides clean drinking
water from the Kalama River to all of the water customers. |
