2.12.010 Office established.

The office of city attorney for the city of Kalama, Cowlitz County, Washington, is ordained and established. (Ord. 126 § 1, 1911).

2.12.020 Appointment--Qualifications.

The office of city attorney shall be filled by appointment by the mayor, subject to ratification by a majority vote of the city council. No person shall be eligible for appointment to the office of city attorney unless he is admitted to practice law in the courts of this state in the manner prescribed by law. 2.12.030 Duties.

The city attorney shall advise the city authorities and officers in all legal matters pertaining to the business of the city. (Ord. 539 § 3, 1972: Ord. 126 § 4, 1911).

2.12.040 Compensation.

The city attorney shall receive as compensation such sums as shall be from time to time provided by the city council. (Ord. 539 § 4, 1972: Ord. 126 § 5, 1911).
