The purpose of the Kalama Chamber of Commerce is to develop, encourage, and promote business endeavors, and to promote civic interests within the Kalama area.
The Kalama Chamber of Commerce proudly organizes, sponsors, or otherwise participates in these great events throughout the year.
SUMMER - Kalama Fair Parade, Car Show, and City-Wide Garage Sale
On the third weekend of July, Kalama Chamber of Commerce kicks off the Kalama Fair by sponsoring the downtown Parade. On Saturday July 16th local businesses, Fair court princesses, elections candidates and more work their way up 1st Street in a festive and cheerful parade! The Chamber will be putting together a float to promote local businesses. Please fill out attached letter if you are interested in participating.
If you like to participate in the parade with your own entry, please fill out the parade entry form and mail it before July 15.
Following the Parade, the fun continues at the Fairgrounds (exit 32) where you’ll find the River to River Run/Walk/Bike, 4H Clubs, Kids Activities, Beer Gardens, vendor booths, fair exhibits, live music and much more! More information on the activities at the Kalama Fair can be found here.
The Untouchables Car Show will take place on the third Sunday in August, with more entries every year. In recent years, more than 300 cars were shown in downtown Kalama and the event has grown to be widely attended by people from all over the region! With 1st Street closed to display cars and foot traffic only, guests are invited to wander the streets, grab a bite to eat, participate in raffles and games, enjoy local music and of course look at the beautiful cars!
Also during the third weekend of August (Thurs-Sun) Kalama Chamber of Commerce holds the All City Garage Sale. Community members all over town will collectively host sales at their homes, as well as some with booths downtown. A map with participating sales is provided on our sandwich-board signs downtown the week of the event. Please contact us at least one week prior if you are holding a sale and would like to be listed!
FALL - Halloween and Shop Local Saturday
Halloween in Kalama is all about the kids! The Chamber invites families to our downtown businesses for safe trick or treating where streets are closed to all traffic except the dress-up kind. Storefronts and booths are decorated and candy is generously given by each participating business for the occasion. Be sure to thank the business members for their huge contribution this year!
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving we like to promote the local businesses with our Shop Local campaign. Avoid the Holiday traffic and shop right here in our downtown district.
