April 2 - Beautify the City - Volunteers Needed
The City looks fantastic after all the work volunteers did on March 19, 2016. They cleaned out flower beds and replaced bark dust in many of the planting areas. You may have noticed there are still piles of bark dust around town. You can help get rid of these piles by joining us and other volunteers this Saturday, April 2. We are meeting at the newly opened Post Office at 7:30 a.m. The assignments for the day are to finish removing old bark dust and replace it with new bark dust in the remaining areas along First Street. Some work will also be done at Toteff Park to get it ready for spring and summer visitors.
Again, thank you to all the volunteers who helped in March. After the December flood, the work everyone did during the March cleanup gave encouragement to others to see the City begin to come back to life and show signs of recovery. Without the help of volunteers, our City could not look as good as it does. At City Hall we receive MANY compliments throughout the year from visitors who are impressed with the way our downtown area looks. As a volunteer, you may not always hear the nice things said about the work you’ve done, but it is noticed and appreciated.
Come and be a part of the team that will continue the spring cleanup on Saturday. You get a great feeling when you volunteer. When a group of citizens get together and work on a project, it creates a wonderful community spirit. Please join us. We’ll see you at 7:30 on April 2.
